Nurture your nature – women’s circle

1

We are living in a time of great collective transformation – most of us are being forced to shift. The Divine Feminine is ready to return, back to create balance with the Divine Masculine. We are being asked to remember who we are, to step up and stand for our truths, and to learn to become our Goddess Selves, once again.
We are sacred creators, nurturers, manifestors, protectors, mothers, and sisters of the Earth and Universe. We are women asking to be heard. It’s time to align with our souls and share the voices of our hearts.

় On this New Moon in Cancer, join us in creating a sacred space with other sisters – an open space to dream, share our thoughts, and connect with the Divine Feminine within.

় Nurture Your Nature with a sound activation and womb meditation that will bring us to deeply connect to our feminine bodies, to each other, and to Mother Earth’s beating heart ♡

় The world is ready to listen. It’s time to re-awaken and be heard.

Why I chose a vegan lifestyle and what happened next

I had an epiphany while visiting Daku Island back in February 2016 – a beautiful island just off Siargao, Philippines… an epiphany that gave me a purpose.

I have always loved nature; the sun, the sea, the stars, the trees, and all the living creatures that inhabit it, and on that sunny day, I walked from the beach into the coconut trees that filled Daku Island. There was a small, pink piglet tied to the trunk of a coconut tree. He was scratching his back against it and he looked like he was struggling. I went over and scratched his back for him. He was adorable. I could see the rope around his neck was tied on ever so tightly, it looked painful. I looked around and there were over 10 pigs, in all sizes, all tied up to different trees. You could see they were afraid and wanted to be free from being bound. This made me so upset. Yes, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen such cruelty to animals, but for some reason, something transformed in me that day…

I traveled back to Cebu the next day and filled my Google tabs with TED Talks by Gary Yourofsky (a wonderful animal activist), documentaries about the meat industry, and vegan recipes. That day, I was convinced that turning vegan was the best thing I could ever do for the animals, for the environment, and the best thing I could ever do for my mind, body and spirit.

I haven’t consumed meat in over 11 years. I LOVE animals and I could never imagine eating them, again. I was, however, pescetarian for 4 years after I moved back to the Philippines. It was tough going out to restaurants for meals and traveling with only being able to eat vegetables. Here in the Philippines, Filipino diets mostly consist of pork, other meat, fish, rice, and rice products. Surprisingly, I rarely met anyone who ate even one vegetarian meal a day! So, I slowly started changing my vegetarian ways and adding seafood to my diet… BUT since that day on Daku Island, I couldn’t put anything that was even produced by an animal, into my mouth; no dairy, no eggs, none of that.

Through the diet and lifestyle transformation, I began to feel more connected to Mother Earth – all Her elements, and beautiful creatures. I felt closer to the Universe, which led me to connect deeper within myself. It was a ripple effect – one transformation led me to another and then another, until I found myself diving deeper into Self-love, Self-development, healing, holistic wellness, and spirituality.

I not only love how veganism and holistic health has improved my skin, mental health and energy – I am entirely grateful for how connected I feel to life itself – to my truth, to unity, love, compassion, God.

I hope this site can act a guide, help lift your spirits when you’re down, bring contemplation into your thoughts, give helpful lifestyle tips, and bring compassion and mindfulness into your everyday life. Your questions and thoughts welcome here ☺

Listening to your Body

For years, I treated my body as if it’s purpose was to be in service to my desires.
I shut my body’s voices off when she needed nurturing, rest, or was longing to be touched.
I was disconnected to her.
Through my practices such as meditation and free movement/dance, her voices started to grow louder and louder until I couldn’t ignore them anymore.
The voices both excited and frightened me.
I knew changes would come and that they were necessary, but I didn’t know if I was ready.
But, when are you really ready?
I silenced the voices of my mind and finally chose to listen to the expressions of my body…
I cried. I shed. Yet, never felt more complete.
– raw. awakened. wild. ruthless…. unapologetic in my evolution.

Re-connected ❤
My body is my sanctuary, my portal to this life. I will bless and honour her for as long as I possess this gift.
.
Do you listen to your body?
Are you doing anything that causes harm to your body?
What does your body long for?

Poet, ballerina, spiritual seeker

img_9990

A bleak poem from my 8 year old self 💀

When I look back at who I was as a child, I laugh. I mean, I was so many things! I was a poet, a sorcerer, a dancer, an actor, a ballerina, an introvert, an extrovert, a bookworm, a singer, a tree hugger, a dreamer, a goofball, a bully, a spoilt brat, a goodie-two-shoes, a tattle-tale, a best friend, a bad friend, a mermaid, a gypsy, insecure, proud, bossy, I could go on!
But, throughout the Kymberly time-line, and though I still believe that I am still some of these things, there is one thing that has always been imprinted in my being… I was a spiritual seeker –
I questioned authorities, I questioned religion, I questioned human emotion, I questioned existence. The things I was being taught weren’t “true enough” because I didn’t know the true origins of the teachings. Who were the authors? Why should I trust them?
So, I went on my own path to seek what was true to me, regardless of all the things I was being taught and told. You know that feeling you get when someone tells you a story or theory that makes every atom in your energy field vibrate, like it’s recognizing or it’s reexperiencing that story/theory you just heard? That feeling. There is nothing more true than that feeling. The knowing = truth. That to me, is spirituality, and that to me has always been most important.

Now, we all have different truths; my truths may not be true to you, and your truths may not be true to me, but that’s just the beauty of life and diversity. And in this era, we must seek unity in the adversity 🙏🏼

I have taken different paths – many years in which I lived unaligned with my truth, and some years completely disconnected from my intuition. Living in alignment is an ongoing process and is never always easy, but I stand proud and grateful for all that I was and all that I am. The spiritual seeker within has brought me here, and I have never felt so connected and aligned ✨

Through this roller coaster of life, I thank this weird poem I found that brought me back to where it all began ♥️
.
Are you a spiritual seeker?
Are you living your truth?

Coffee Mask & Scrub

Waste coffee grinds, no more!
There are so many amazing uses for coffee grounds, but using it as a mask & scrub has to be one of my favourites. One, because it smells so damn good, and secondly, because your skin feels incredible after.

You can also add different ingredients to your coffee grinds such as:

  • coconut oil – moisturising
  • olive oil – moisturising
  • brown sugar – extra exfoliation
  • tea tree oil – antibacterial, great for acne
  • lavender oil – calming, great for acne and scars
  • honey – moisturising and anti-bacterial (non-vegan option)

Benefits of exfoliation:

  • removes dead skin cells
  • helps unclog pores that can cause pimples
  • evens skin tone
  • increases cell turnover
  • helps increase the absorption of skin care products

Enjoy! Namasté.

Skin Positivity, Not Skin Perfection

7e7d773f-b7da-4f0d-a943-6de578f5cd03

I have been a skincare addict since I was a child, passed on by my mother who smothered my sister and I with lotion after every shower. I thank her. I learned to be responsible for the care of my skin. To listen to my skin and understand her. To nurture her. But, even through all the care I gave, skin problems arose. For most of us, this is inevitable.

We live in a society where media has brought upon us stigma and skin discrimination. There are thousands of skin conditions and millions of people struggling with these so called, “imperfections”, yet the media mostly shares only models with “perfect” complexion and photoshopped skin. Throughout my teens and young adulthood, I was sucked into this belief that my skin was ugly because of it’s imperfections, so I did what I thought was all I could do… buy cosmetics that will “fix” my skin, and cake my flaws with makeup. It took me YEARS of researching, self-diagnosing, and going within to finally treat my skin the way it was crying out to be treated and heal myself. My experience did not only leave physical scars… I am nearly 31 years old, and I am still healing.

A message to those who want to treat skin issues:
– it’s not just about what you put on your skin. It’s a balance and combination of mind, body, mental, and spiritual health.
– what you put into your body matters MOST. Drink plenty of water and stay away from refined sugar, dairy and meat.
– don’t put all your trust on every derma or doctor you visit.
– learn to listen to your body, especially your gut – your gut health matters sooo much.
– natural remedies and products that don’t have harmful chemicals are best. Beware of chemicals that can bleach, burn and irritate your skin.
– don’t give up. Be patient with your healing. All of our bodies work differently.

P.S. Your relationship with your skin is personal to you. What you may care about may not matter to someone else. Heal what you can but embrace what you can’t. And remember, WE ARE BEYOND ANY SHAPE OR COLOR.

.

I would love to hear from you! Please answer below:
– Are you struggling to love your skin?
– Do you have any skin problems? How is it affecting your life?
– What do you love about your skin?

I never thought I’d say this…

… but I was drawn to share this with you all after watching Happy Feet, last night. Orthopedic shoes are the best! If you’ve watched Grace and Frankie then you know which character I am (most likely) becoming… I’m currently OBSESSING over the wellness of my feet, and all because of one visit to (sound affect, dun dun duuuun)… Dr. Kong, the comfortable and healthy shoe company.

The reason why this was all so surprising to me was that I used to tease the shit out of one of my best friends in high school for wearing orthopedic Dr. Kong school shoes. L O L. I mean, it didn’t help that the shoes she wore were also for boys (she had big feet and my nickname for her was Twinkle Toes), but because of those specific and unaesthetically pleasing pair of Dr. Kong’s, I never thought a day would come where I would be wearing Dr. Kong shoes.

I don’t know about you, but I believe that the Universe is also a conscious being who brings forth into your life, situations, people and things that you consciously, and subconsciously attract or need in that moment. And so this is why, I believe, Dr. Kong is now in my life, hahaha.

It all started with an invite to check out their store in Robinsons Galleria. I was definitely hesitant at first, especially with my fashion background and history with the Kongs, haha 💁🏻‍♀️ but I knew that I had to have a foot-check-up because I saw that my old shoes flattened down where the arches used to be.

[CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO WATCH SHORT VIDEO OF MY DR. KONG ADVENTURE]

https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE4MDE0MDg2ODc2MDg0NTQw/

I was instantly inSOLD! 😆 My feet had never truly found comfort until that day! Those insoles made my feet cry with happiness. How sad I now feel to know that I have walked for 28+ years without giving a shit about my feet, and because of it, have caused a misalignment with my ankles. Something I could have prevented if I had only pushed my judgmental, teenage ego aside and listened to Rosie a.k.a Twinkle Toes.

I did mention to her that I got my very own pair of Dr. Kong’s and she was just as surprised as I… I was also surprised to see all the “hipper” styles of shoes and sandals in the store 😎. The pink sneakers caught my eye and they were super comfortable, especially worn with the insoles. I was very impressed with the overall experience; the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, and the store was comfortable and clean.

I HIGHLY recommend visiting Dr. Kong even if it’s just for a check up, it’s free anyway! To know what’s going on down there is so important. These our very important parts of our bodies that we have been neglecting for years and years! I only wish that I was taught about the effects of flat feet and other foot problems much earlier in life, and this is why I’m taking time on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share my story about my, now grateful, feet! 👣🙂🧡

P.S. I’m still on my orthopedic shoe journey but I want to share that I have come across life-changing arch support, vegan, and PVC-free flip-flops and sandals from Reef in Olympic Village, Ayala, Cebu. There are also other affordable brands that make arch support sandals available! Yay! I’ve also been looking online, but seriously, why are orthopedic shoes so fckin ugly!? Does anyone know of any brands that make “stylish” arch supported shoes for the flat-flooted? 🙏🏼 Write me a comment if you do! I will wifi hug you! Thank you!

All the best, and much love to your feet! ✌🏼️

Trust

Last Thursday, I chose a card from my mentor’s super pretty oracle deck which read, ‘Trust your path.’

I used to constantly question my life path and my choices and found that trusting myself was one of the hardest things to do. I realized that feeling that way put me in a stagnant cycle where I was stayed stuck and obstructed any real growth in myself and in my life. I do still struggle with trusting some of the decisions I make, but I have stopped questioning my path.

Living everyday knowing that there’s so much to learn, remember, and share gives me a reason to live, have faith, and look ahead. Whatever path you are on, trust it. There is always gain where there is trust 🙏🏼

[Telling myself this while I do tarot readings haha… practice makes perfect 😆 trust trust trust!]

PS. I started practicing tarot about a year ago with Windy at The Gassho Center in Cebu. Fell in love with how they serve guidance to everyday issues, questions or thoughts and I continue to do self-readings and (rarely) read for others as I am still learning to TRUST myself 🙏🏼♥️ For those who are interested in learning, do some research and don’t be afraid! It’s fun and they can assist you in life!

TranscenDANCED in Asmara

What an enlightening experience!!!

I was so nervous on Saturday morning, I kept going through all the things I wanted to say during the event. PLUS it was my sister’s birthday so I wanted to make sure she was having a good time.

The weather was beautiful that day, and Asmarawas ready for us to set up when we arrived at 9 15. When people started arriving, I was surprised to see so many new faces, and even familiar faces of friends who I did not expect to see at the event. It was a wonderful feeling :] We started by sitting in a circle, explaining the event, the rules and, what to expect during the dance. There were about 20 of us, most of which have never experienced ecstatic dance before. We started by stretching and shaking our bodies to get warmed up, and then we brought our attention to the breath. So it began…

Transcendance DO’S:

✅ You are FREE to express yourself
✅ Free to move or just mediate on the side or do yoga
✅ No need to follow steps
✅ Parents can bring their kids

Transcendance DONT’S:
❌ No shoes
❌ No alcohol
❌ No drugs
❌ No phones/cameras
❌ No talking in the space

Unfortunately I don’t have any more photos or videos to post just yet, but I will get a few to share with you all soon! Since it was our first time we decided to document some parts of the event, that way others can get an idea of what the experience is all about, and hopefully, join in next time!

53458939_2243232782605175_5032952787529367552_n.jpg

This was only my 3rd ecstatic dance experience and although I was worrying about how people were going to react, I was beautifully surprised and happy to see that everyone was so open and receptive to the music and to the movement. I loved catching people in the eyes and then smiling at them, I loved seeing people full of joy and letting go of judgments, and I thoroughly enjoyed being in that space together where we were all embracing the moment and becoming one. I felt emotional and fulfilled.

After about an hour, the music leaded us to shavasana and then we came together for the sharing circle. This was when my heart grew and melted. Everyone shared very kind words about the event, but most importantly, shared their personal experience without fear. I thrive on openness and oneness, and that was given to me last Saturday morning, HASHTAG BLESSED! Haha… :-p . I saw myself in each person and felt so connected to them, to my surroundings, and to my body and soul. We then surprised Divine with a birthday cake :] It was delightful to see her so happy as this was only the second time for her to DJ ecstatic dance music. She did a great job by the way, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my sister!

I’m very grateful to Princess and Jangee for inviting me to start this movement with them, and very thankful for my sister and boyfriend for being so supportive of my ventures. Thank you Asmara for the venue! We are very excited for the future of Transcendance! Please stay tuned on my facebook page for the upcoming events.

Animals Rights March 2018

I would just like to share this important event coming up on 25th August.

As you all know, I am an animals rights activist/ vegan ninja 😛 and I am so happy that I will be a part of this year’s Animal Rights March. I can’t wait to be around such compassionate people and, of course to meet other vegans in the country! If you’re joining, do let me know, I would love to meet you! Just shoot me a message on Instagram @kymberlymaitlandsmith.

iLkGc5DQ

UNITE FOR THE ANIMALS!

The Official Animal Rights March is an annual vegan march founded by UK animal rights organisation Surge. The march began in London in 2016 with 2,500 vegans and in 2017 the march doubled to 5,000 vegans marching for animal liberation through London. In 2018, we’re bringing The Official Animal Rights March to the Philippines in order to spread the message of animal liberation across the globe.

In order to make this march succeed, we need your help. Invite your friends, tell every vegan you meet, this is the day where we unite, where we stand up, rise up and say no more, not in our name.

The future is vegan, but we must continue to speak out on behalf of the animals until the day that their suffering ends.

Save the date, spread the word – and let’s make history for the animals.

www.facebook.com/theofficialanimalrightsmarchphilippines
www.theofficialanimalrightsmarch.com
www.surgeactivism.com

Assembly Point: Andres Bonifacio Shrine
Assembly Time: 11am
Route of March: Taft Avenue – Quirino Avenue – Mabini Street
Length/Duration: 6 kilometers/2.5 – 3 hours
End Point: Parade Ground, Quirino Grandstand

Here are a few reminders to help you get ready!

We are encouraging all participants to unify in wearing black shirts on the day of the march. Any writing on it would preferably have a message relevant to animal rights and veganism. This is an animal rights event, so please DON’T WEAR any animal-derived clothing (e.g., leather, fur, silk, down, suede and wool) and please DON’T BRING AND EAT any animal-derived “food”/beverages (e.g., meat, fish, honey, dairy, and eggs) during the march.

WHAT TO BRING:
* Signs/placards/banners/flags (with animal rights/vegan messages)
* Drinking water using reusable bottles
* Umbrella
* Megaphone, drums/percussion, whistle (if you have one)

We also advice you not to bring your animal companion because the activity might stress them out.

See you all on August 25 at Andres Bonifacio Shrine, Manila!

Metro Society’s SUMMER SOUL at AZURE

The day of the Summer Soul event had arrived! Not only were we there to celebrate Metro Channel, but we also came together to support Crimson’s campaign, ‘Adopt a Clam’ to help keep our oceans protected.  I was very excited to see what was in store for the evening.

With an all white dress code, I had prepared myself by designing and creating outfits for myself, my sister and two of my girlfriends. It was my first time making outfits for an event so I was very excited to see everyone in their SOLTI custom designs!

At about 3pm, Krishtal and I headed to Crimson so we could start getting dolled up. Here is a video of us using the awesome KISS Instawave hair curler for the first time. To be honest, it took a few minutes to get used to, plus I just had my hair cut shorter! BUT, it definitely worked and it makes curling your hair so much easier :]

After an hour of hair and make up, it was time to shine. My ladies rocked my SOLTI custom designs, the weather was perfect, and the set up at Azure was stunning. We couldn’t have asked for more!

The garden was flowing with lovely people in white, refreshing cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres. We mingled with our fellow Cebuanos and then headed to the benefit dinner on the beach.

Everything looked enchanting with blue lights, decor and floral centre pieces. There was a buffet with a delicious variety of cuisines, and even though I joined in on the feast, Azure still spoiled me with my very own vegan plate!

img_8347-1Summer-Soul-party-hosts-Joey-Mead-and-Tim-YapThe hosts for the evening, Joey & Tim presented us with the first episode of Metro Channel’s new show starring Maggie Wilson and Marc Nelson called, Beached.

The evening was full of food, wine and great company, but what topped it off for me were the number of adopted clams! My friends and I even adopted one :] The campaign was definitely a success and marine life advocates were more than pleased. Thank you, Crimson for helping protect our clams! Readers, its time to adopt yours, too!

More about campaign from the Crimson website:

The 8-hectare marine reserve hosts 98 juvenile Tridacna or Giant Clams, first introduced in 2nd December 2016 in the reserve to allow a safe and conducive area to grow and develop. Because the protected area has a strict no-take implementation, continues monitoring by a marine biologist and various other protective measures, these Tridacna have found a good habitat in the resort’s foreshore.

The first of its kind in Cebu, Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan is putting up for adoption the 98 Tridacna or Giant Clams for a year. By adopting one of these clams, you will be contributing to its protection and growth.

In June, a scheduled tagging activity will be conducted to fully monitor the growth, movement and development of these clams.

To adopt a clam, please contact info.mactan@crimsonhotel.com.

The night ended with summer beats and more mingling. Everything was truly perfect. Thank you Metro and Crimson for delightful event!

P.S. If you would like to customize your swimwear or have an outfit designed by me, please contact me at staysolti@gmail.com 🌷 I located in Cebu and all of my designs are handmade. Thank you!

Metro Society’s SUMMER SOUL Cruise

Metro Society’s SUMMER SOUL Cruise

On the 27th April 2018, Metro Society hosted a banca (boating) cruise just off Crimson Resort & Spa, Cebu in celebration of their new shows and channel, Metro Channel. We enjoyed the breeze and beautiful sunset with Metro’s celebrities, Joey Mead King, Tim Yap, Maggie Wilson-Consunji, Marc Nelson, and Tricia Centenera, while sipping tropical margaritas by Cointreau. I was definitely starstrucked!

Creamy Cheezie Zucchini

Creamy Cheezie Zucchini

My sister came over the other day and taught me how to make vegan bechamel sauce. Since then I’ve been eating a little bit too much of it, but nevertheless! This recipe will help you put down the dairy and pick up the soy!

While boiling the pasta, heat another pan on low heat and pour a cup of soy milk and a spoon of dairy-free butter (I like to use Nuttelex Original. You can buy this in Landers & SNR)

Stir till the butter has melted and slowly pour in some flour while stirring. It’s important to keep stirring or whisking so that the flour doesn’t clump! Add about half a cup of flour. If you want a thicker sauce add even more flour, and if you want it to be soupy, add less. Play with it!

When you find the right consistency for you, add chopped onions and garlic and continue to stir. Throw in the sliced zucchini and let simmer.

I like to add nutritional yeast to give it a cheezier flavor. Add about two tablespoons. If your sauce has become too thick for your liking, add a dash more soy milk and continue to stir.

You’re nearly done!

Drain your pasta, mix it in with the sauce and add salt and pepper to taste.

There it is! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 🥒

Bon appétit!

My 2017 Euro Trip – Mia & Jacque’s Wedding in Roscoff

My 2017 Euro Trip – Mia & Jacque’s Wedding in Roscoff

June.

Mike and I traveled from Paris to Roscoff on a train the next morning. It was about a 5 hour trip and was actually quite pleasant and simple to do. On that evening, the welcome garden party of Mia & Jacques was held. The event was at Jacques family home in Roscoff, and it was sublimely beautiful.

This wedding weekend definitely brought the most Filipinos Roscoff had ever seen, hahaha. It was great to be with friends on that side of the world, and meeting Jacques’s family was a delight. Mia and Jacques had a great crowd; from their childhood pals to their college friends, everyone was wonderful.

Here are some photos of the beautiful view that surrounded Roscoff, taken with my Fujifilm X-T20.

img_1436img_1438img_1439

Sight seeing and walking around town before the wedding. The weather was perfect; sun was out and the winds weren’t too chilly.

img_1441img_1442img_1443

Look at this handsome man! Haha, I had to do a quick shot of him in his Topshop suit and Zara tie ;-] Oh don’t we tidy up nicely?

The only perk of arriving late to a wedding ceremony!

img_1455

Got a little emotional! Mia looked perfect in her very own Mia Arcenas wedding gown.

The ceremony was held in the Church of Our Lady of Croaz Batz, from the 16th century. It was quaint, charming and very elegant, perfect for Mia and Jacques.

Great minds think alike!) and sandals that I fell in love with in a boutique store in Roscoff. No heels, no problems!

Saving the best till last… KNOCKED OUT on the bus on the way back to our hotel, with mouth wide open…

img_1544

My hangover the next day wasn’t so bad, thank goodness! The wedding party met at the pier and off we went to Île de Batz.

image_540096081281612

Île de Batz is a small island just a few minutes away from Roscoff known for their scenic views, pristine beaches, affluent flowers, and beautiful gardens. I only saw two cars on the island and a few tractors. The roads were quiet and wherever you looked there were flowers. The smell of lavender filled the air and all you could hear was the sound of the wind brushing through the leaves. I fell in love with this island instantly.

For those of you who love crepes, make sure you walk to the restaurant, Creperie du Phare. It is about a 20 minute walk from the pier and is a great place to sight-see.

What a wonderful trip and a great experience. Thank you Mia and Jacques, for having us there! It was a truly beautiful wedding and I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world! Next stop —> Plymouth, England via Brittany Ferries. 6 hour travel time…

My 2017 Euro Trip – FRANCE 🇫🇷

My 2017 Euro Trip – FRANCE 🇫🇷

June.

Touchdown and fresh off the boat straight to the Louvre 🙌🏼 It was a perfect summer’s day.

At the Notre Dame.

You can’t guess where we went to next… one of the first vegan restaurants in Paris, Le Grenier De Notre Dame 😻🌱 The dishes were not only colorful, they were very tasty and flavorful, and of course, nutritious!

And then of course some sorbet for the lady. Don’t be fooled, it was delicious.

To Musée Picasso!

Beautiful work and beautiful quotes by Picasso himself cover the rooms in Hôtel Salé. What a great museum to visit.

Palace of Versailles

The gardens were amazing! There’s a lot to see so make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

So much history on these walls. Truly a magnificent palace, full of intricate gold details. Being surrounded by such beauty and history really makes you recognize the evolution of design and appreciate where it came from.

Merci beaucoup!

Burger time!

Sorry, I ate the burger before I could take a photo of it…

On to… Tour de Eiffel with my boos!!!

Together again from Cebu to Paris, baby. My gal, Natacha ♥️

Time for a night out at the Titty Twister…

New friends! À votre santé!

Someone’s excited.

Walking around the Parliament.

Awesome vibes during Fête de la Musique! My new woman crush.

Lunch time at Le Pain Quotidien

Small streets pleasantly covered in graffiti & posters.

Then a tour around the most colourful street in Paris, Rue Crémieux 🌸 🌼

After a lot more walking, we reached Sacré-Cœur, an 18th century basilica on the top of Montmartre, Paris.

Just look at this Romano – Byzantine architecture. It’s incredible.

I could spend hours, even a day or two at some of Paris’s famous sites, but unfortunately we didn’t have much time left to spend. Our last night in Paris…

Yes, we returned to Le Grenier De Notre Dame for our last supper 🤗 🌱

Then I took Mike to see the famous Avant-Garde cabaret show in Paris…. Crazy Horse! It was so much fun and very very creative show. The performances were colorful, edgy, sexy and very elegant. I highly recommend it!

(We weren’t allowed to take photos inside but here are some images I took from the website.)

The after party with Mr. Pleased.

Our last drink with our other half, Natacha, and our last drink in Paris.

Thank you, boo for showing us a great time! Thank you Paris for having us! You are as beautiful as always🙏🏼 Merci

If you haven’t been, take some time away from General Luna and head up to the Magpupungko rock pools. Its amazing there! Make sure to check the tides so you know when its the best time to go.

After an afternoon there, we found this little guy… so we took him home! Name: Pungko ♥️

My boyfriend’s family have a beautiful place in Pilar, a town located in the middle of Siargao Island. Quiet and right on the water, this is a destination fit for friends and family. Rooms will be available for rent very soon! This is the view from the deck.

I don’t leave my room without using my favorite La Mer products, especially the UV Protecting Fluid with SPF 50. Need to keep those sunspots away!

After basking in the sun and enjoying the quiet, we went to Lotus Shores in General Luna. If you’re ever in Siargao, you have to try out this restaurant. They are well known for their delicious vegan menu 🌱👌🏼  and everything was superb.

Lovely as always 🙏🏼 Salamat, Siargao

Stir Fry Miso Udon

Stir Fry Miso Udon

My quick, go-to meal. I am obsessed with noodles…

Prepare your udon noodles by cooking them in a pot of boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes and then putting them into a colander

Chop up garlic, green beans, tofu, and spring onion

Heat up a saucepan, pour some sesame oil and add the garlic

After 1 minute, pour in some soy sauce, sweet rice wine, sriracha
and a dash of maple syrup to taste

Add the string beans and cook for approximately 4 minutes while stirring

Add the tofu and a pinch of salt

Mix the udon into the saucepan and stir

Pour the noodles into a bowl, add the spring onions and throw in sesame seeds

img_5221

Viola! Enjoy!

Green beans are high in fiber, great with preventing blood clots in arteries and veins, controls diabetes, is great for bone health, eye care, and also boosts your immunity! Tofu is high in protein, magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, and vitamin B1. ♡ Plant based, baby!

Squash ‘n Barley Me

Squash ‘n Barley Me

Easy and filling! This meal is low in fat and a good source of protein, vitamin A + C + K + B6, dietary fiber, and magnesium.

Cook barley with 1 cup barley to 3 cup water ratio, chopped garlic and salt

Chop up more garlic for the squash

Cut squash up into medium sized cubes and heat in a pan with dairy-free butter or cooking oil of choice till cubes soften

Add apple cider vinegar, nutritional yeast, garlic salt and pepper to taste

Place in bowl and top with ground pistachios

Enjoy!

Bay Area Takeover II x SOLTI Activewear

Bay Area Takeover II x SOLTI Activewear

09.09.17 marks the day of Cebu’s biggest hip hop beach party at the Ibiza Beach Club, Movenpick Hotel, Cebu. I’m so grateful to have been a part of such a fresh event, thanks to Ed Roberson who made it all come to life. Ed Roberson and his wife, Marivic moved to Cebu only a few months ago and they have already turned Cebu’s party scene around. Both from San Francisco, they brought their expertise and originality to nightlife and events, which keeps everyone on their toes waiting to see what they have next in store…

I wasn’t in town for Bay Area Takeover I, but I saw the videos and it was definitely “turnt”! So when Ed approached me to collaborate with him for the second event, I automatically said, YES. He then mentioned that Kehlani’s tour DJ, Noodles and a Bay Area rapper, P-Lo would be performing at the party… I was totally in.

I instantly got my SOLTI Girls together and started planning the SOLTI Activewear runway for the event. The girls and I were super excited and the rest was history! Everything went down smoothly; P-Lo & Noodles killed it, and the SOLTI Girls were just perfect. For those who couldn’t make it, there will be a next time!

Around 9PM P-Lo hit the stage while Noodles spun his songs, including his big new hit, “Put Me On Somthin’”. The SOLTI Girls walked out one by one as P-Lo started performing. They danced and flirted with P-Lo as they posed on stage, showcasing SOLTI’s versatile, colorful, and sexy designs.

Wonderfruit 2017

I am too excited! On 16th-20th February, Wonderfruit will be there to experience, and it has soooo much in store for us this year. Wonderfruit is not like any other music festival; other than their great music line-up, this festival teaches us how we can live sustainably, while enjoying every single minute of it…

a001

The festival is spread out onto the vast fields of Siam Country Club in Pattaya, Thailand, only a couple of hours from Bangkok.

There, I will be staying in a Bell Tent fully equipped with everything I’ll be needing for the 4 day event! There is also a large area for camping or parking RVs throughout the 4 day festival. Water is even free, just bring your own bottle! Everything you need will be there..

a049

There will be educational seminars and workshops from inspiring and intellectual people from all over the world who want to share their innovative ideas. One seminar I wont be missing is by Paula Miquelis, “How to Turn Garbage Into Gold”, and I will definitely be taking part in the farming workshops! I can’t wait!

a091

a059

Plenty of fun activities will be available throughout the festival from art, bicycling, farming, cooking, eating, exploring, meditating, yoga, skating, belly dancing, martial arts, and so much more!

a204

This is a family event, so kids and animals welcome!

Prosthetics for Roo!

Meet the beautiful rescue, Roo ♡

img_2500

She was run over about a year ago at only 4 months and has undergone 3 surgeries for her 2 front legs.
Roo is a sweet and fun loving doggie who loves to play, however she tires easily as she has to slouch and walk on her hind legs. This causes a lot of strain on Roo’s spine.

PLEASE help Nena Hernandez, Island Rescue Organization & I raise money so that she can get prosthetic legs made as soon as possible .
It will cost approximately $1000 (we’re waiting for actual cost) and I will keep you posted on the progress.

Please share and message me at kymberlymms.va@gmail.com if you would like to help! Every little helps!
Thank you!
